Day Three of what has been a fascinating Cambridgeshire Meeting at Newmarket and an intriguing Saturday card awaits with the Group races and of course the Cambridgeshire. Last year The Wine Tipster tipped up Lord North in the Cambridgeshire, who cruised to victory and Tempus looks to have a cracking chance here, having just got the better of Walhaan at Ascot. As ever the Cambridgeshire will be great spectacle and there will certainly be a big priced runner in the places with Data Protection overlooked at Unibet 50/1 each way.
Enjoy!
Cheers

1.50 Newmarket – Royal Lodge Stakes Group 2 (1m)
Ontario travelled best at the Curragh but the run flattened out in the final furlong, possibly a little outpaced. That’s still good form and the ground won’t be a problem. Step back up to a mile will suit and the second Cadillac has been a ready winner since. The Aidan O Brien yard won this contest last year. Unibet 100/30 win
2.05 Haydock – Close Brothers Handicap (1m)
Crownthorpe is worth an each way play at a bigger price, as easy enough to find excuses for two efforts this year (ground, trip, general lack of fitness) .He tends to come good in the autumn on soft ground and is now only 1lb higher than last win at York last October. The Richard Fahey yard are going much better now too. Unibet 14/1 each way
2.25 Newmarket – Cheveley Park Stakes Group 1 (6f)
Alcohol Free was second to Happy Romance in a Group 3 at Salisbury on her second career last time out. There was plenty to like about that performance, as she was always travelling well, yet still looked pretty green as she came to make her challenge. She can step up from Salisbury and score here second win (won on debut at Newbury). Unibet 11/2 each way
3.00 Newmarket – Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes Group 1 (6f)
Method for the Martyn Meade team has looked very impressive in two starts, clocking a good speed figure at Newbury last time (and the form is working out, second Mighty Gurkha won the Group Three Sirenia Stakes last time) and every chance that softish ground might improve him a bit on breeding (dam loved cut). Unibet 3/1 win
3.35 Newmarket – Cambridgeshire Handicap (1m1f)
Tempus (nap) has the lightly raced, progressive profile to win the Cambridgeshire for the Roger Charlton team. This colt has had two starts this season and his win last time out beating Walhaan at Ascot (reopposes) really caught the eye. Tempus looks sure to relish the extra furlong here and despite having a penalty to contend with can come out on top. Unibet 6/1 each way.
Walhaan for the Ian Williams yard is very interesting. Best run for Jean-Claude Rouget in France came over this trip of one mile one furlong came back in 2019 in a race that’s worked out okay (couple of those in front of him G3/Listed level). Steadily brought along by new yard and last two runs eye-catching, especially with his good second to Tempus (reopposes today) at Ascot Might be well drawn in stall one and given how well he travelled at Ascot last time, should be up there early. Ground won’t be an issue either. Unibet 20/1 each way.
